Ragnar Relay

Spencer and I, along with a lot of my family ran the Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay race this year. It's 198 miles from Logan to Park City. You basically live in and out of a van for a day and a half. Running 3 legs of anywhere from 3-9 miles anytime of day. I ran a 3 mile in the late afternoon, a 9 mile at 3am and a 3.5 mile straight up hill (1700 foot gain) of which I ran the whole thing and was pretty proud of myself. Slow, yes, but I ran it. It was great. The start of the Ragnar hill- everyone laughing because this is the hill I had dreaded. :)

Jon (my cousin) and I both ran half of the Ragnar hill and Spencer ran down the other side. We rocked it! :)

My good old dad ran the race- his last leg was in a horrible rain storm, poor guy. He did awesome though.

Jeni, Brittany and Ashley, my cousins who ran with us.

Spencer had tough runs and he did awesome.

Right after my 3am, 9 mile run. I loved it actually. A huge moon, run around the lake, good music, great weather. It was perfect. Good times.

Thank you

Our bishopric was just released and for FHE last night we made a thank you video for them. I watched it and thought it was hilarious for some reason (just watch Parker sing!) so I thought I'd share..

Rock Climbing and Skate Boarding

Since it's my summer off (not pregnant) we're trying to take advantage and we've been trying to get out and go hiking or rock climbing a couple times a week. It's been great. I still am a wuss rock climbing but I'm getting the hang of it better and Spencer finally trusts me to belay. We went with our friends Liz and Brett this week and these are some picts she took.

Brett and Liz. Liz held Ben and even fed him messy Graham crackers while I climbed. He obviously loved it. She's pregnant and going to be a great mom!

Parker's got the Clegg tongue- always out!

And skate boarding- no pictures of this one but Friday afternoon after Spencer came home, we went to the skate park with Parker and Ben. It was one of those “where is my camera” moments watching Parker and Spencer walk skateboards in hand toward the park. I stayed in the car with a sleeping little Ben until he woke up and then I joined them. Parker was red faced from working hard and he was loving it. Spencer was taking him in the pool to avoid the crowd. I got down and did a little skating too- I'm so rusty and felt self conscious being #1 old and #2 a girl. But I loved doing it all the same and there was a minute where it flowed and I remembered how fun it is. Then the bad part- I was trying to get Parker out of the bowl- I had to run and try and lift him up. Right as Spencer warned not to hit his head, it happened. Slow motion. Oh it was a horrible feeling. His face came down and hit the coping. Smack. Oh I was dying. Afraid to look..I checked and his face was okay -”check his teeth, are they there?” Spencer yelled. All there. But his chin- a big huge gash on his chin. Parker was bawling, though I was still impressed with how brave he was. He really was very brave. It looked so horrible. So we spent the next 5 hours (no exaggeration) in the emergency room of Primary Children's. It was jam- packed and smelled like throw-up. No fun at all. But we made it out eventually with 7 stitches. Parker's second set and he's not even three. My fault though. I seriously felt terrible and was so bugged with myself. Looks like we're going to have to buy some helmets and pads- and maybe I'll need Daddy to help him out of the bowls.

Lava Hot Springs

Since our last trip to Lava Hot Springs was interuppted with an early delivery of our little Ben we decided to make another trip- this time with the whole fam. We met Tasha and Josh there (it's a great meeting place between Rexburg-where they are living right now and SLC) and Ben and Lori Jenson. We rented a little house on Main street and experienced Lava at it's fullest-

We rafted the river, watched the motorcycle rally, ate at the gas-station-converted Thai restaurant, sat in the hot pots, and ate great ice cream. Parker and Asher were their crazy selves when together and Brandon, Parker, Bridger and Ben got along great. It was a fun time.

Thomas the Train

Thomas came to Heber Valley Railroad and Grandma was nice enough to take us all. Parker was in HEAVEN. He seriously could have stayed there all day long.

We rode Thomas, got our faces tatooed, took pictures, played with all kinds of trains and had a great time. Cailin and Ben had fun together and are really interacting cute and Parker is SUCH a sweet older cousin/brother. He really takes care of them. I enjoyed being with Mindy and always love talking to her. She had a nice shiner from being hit in the face with a softball. A week later she found out the bone in her face had actually BROKEN and has to have extensive dental work done. She is one tough chick. She didn't even act like anything was wrong and has been running 18+ miles with a broken face. It was a great day at Thomas- thanks Grandma!

Summer Fun

I love the summer, especially now that Parker is old enough to want to go on adventures with me. We've been hiking a lot and going up in the canyon and he LOVES it. Ben does too. Here we are on a hike up to the "H" by us. We also did a hike up to the "living room" with daddy-about 3.5 miles round trip and Parker did AWESOME.

I went running one Saturday morning and came back at 9am to ALL of my boys still asleep. I didn't even know Parker and Ben could sleep that long! Here they all are on a lazy Saturday morning!

We love the zoo- which is about a 1.5 miles from our house. Come and go with us! The Cary's came and went with us and we had a lot of fun. Parker could ride the train all day long and be 100% satisfied. Here he is with what I think is his first crush- "Alli Cary" (He NEVER just calls her Alli- but always her WHOLE name). He loves her.
